JACKSONVILLE, N.C., July 18, 2023 – Cornerstone Hospitality, LLC proudly announces the grand opening of Jacksonville's latest addition, My Place Hotel. This official unveiling, in collaboration with the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, celebrates the second My Place Hotel in the state.
Targeting short-stay and extended-stay travelers, My Place Hotel is equipped with amenities such as in-room kitchens, guest laundry, a barbeque pavilion, My Store, and more. It's an ideal accommodation for local workers, military travelers, Camp Lejeune visitors, and even pet owners.
"Having grown up in Jacksonville, I've seen both the market and Camp Lejeune expand significantly," said Kimberly Christner, president of Cornerstone Hospitality and project partner. "The My Place Hotel is an excellent fit, catering to corporate, leisure, and military travelers by offering amenities akin to those of traditional branded hotels but at a more affordable price point.”
The 85-room property began construction in the spring of 2022. Located at 401 Northwest Circle, just off Western Boulevard, The My Place Hotel in Jacksonville is only the second hotel property of its kind in North Carolina. The initial location was opened in Virginia in 2020, later securing the 'Inn of the Year' award for the My Place Hotel brand in 2022. "The success of the Virginia property in a military market re-affirmed to us that our product fulfills the needs of all types of guests, regardless of their reason for travel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable,” said Craig Larson, chief operating officer of Cornerstone Hospitality, and project partner.
Cornerstone Hospitality tapped local hotelier and former marine Rusty Wilson to lead the property as the General Manager. “We really are fortunate to have secured Rusty as our property leader. As the daughter of a career military man, it was important to me that we hire local and when possible, hire former military and military family members. Rusty has put together a stellar team,” shared Christner.
The property is managed by Cornerstone Hospitality, LLC, based in Williamsburg, Virginia.
