New Holiday Inn Express and Suites Comes to King George, Virginia

Gateway Hospitality, LLC has begun the development process for a new construction 80 room Holiday Inn Express & Suites situated in King George, Virginia and adjacent to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division. The new 80 room Hotel will replace the existing Holiday Inn Express flag on Route 301 as part of the new King George Gateway 160 acre commercial development, which includes University of Mary Washington and Wal-Mart Super Center.

This area of King George, located on US Route 301 just south of the Harry W. Nice Potomac River Bridge, has rapidly developed as a commercial retail, educational and hospitality hub as the result of Realty Development Services, LLC’s Edward Murphy focusing on this developing in the region.  The Second Phase of King George Gateway retail center opens this month.  Ed Murphy is the Manager of King George Gateway and Gateway Hospitality LLC; developer of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites.

Cornerstone Hospitality Adds Three Virginia Properties to Their Portfolio

Cornerstone Hospitality announced today the addition of the Hampton Inn and Sleep Inn & Suites, located in Stony Creek, Virginia and Comfort Inn, South Hill, Virginia to their portfolio.

“Both of the Stony Creek properties are located along I-95 and provide a wonderful location for travelers along the corridor and those utilizing the local military bases. These assets have been on our radar since our inception due to their close proximity to our corporate offices and quality of the asset.” said President and CEO of Cornerstone Hospitality, Kimberly L. Christner. The owners of these properties have completed the required brand refresh at both properties.

Work Soon to Start on The Sessions Hotel in Downtown Bristol

BRISTOL, Va. — Turning historic parts of a city’s skyline into luxury accommodations is old hat for a Roanoke-based group looking to roll out a welcome mat on State Street in the form of a 70-unit hotel complete with rooftop bar and music performance pavilion.

Creative Boutique Hotels recently took an old shoe factory in Lynchburg and crafted 44 rooms, two restaurants and a brewery. On Wednesday, company officials announced plans to begin work next month on transforming the former Jobbers Candy Co. factory, Owen Equipment Co. building and Simply Ground Flour Mill into The Sessions Hotel.
